Dr. Ken Wackes

Dr. Ken Wackes has been associate minister of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and headmaster of that church’s school, Westminster Academy, for over 30 years. Dr. Wackes is a graduate of Nyack College, Jaffray School of Missions, Columbia Theological Seminary, and Vanderbilt University. While a member, officer, and president of numerous professional organizations, and a busy speaker and administrator, he has been fulfilled primarily in the exercise of his gifts in teaching and counseling.

This book grew out of his teaching and counseling ministries. It took shape in the classrooms of Westminster Academy in a required course for all high school seniors. This lead the author into a relationship with students resulting in his conducting pre-marital counseling later for over 200 graduates of the course.

The concepts in the book have also served as the primary content in the author’s extensive pre-marital counseling, and are being used by others in the same quest for informed, prayerful marriage preparation.

Many urged him to put these ideas into a format for ready use by others. Coral Ridge Ministries undertook the project to make effective ministry possible wherever these materials are received.

Dr. Wackes is married to Ruth, his bride of 45 years, is the father of three children, and is the grandfather of ten. He resides in Pompano Beach , Florida .
